“Working with The Playhouse Foundation has been a really amazing and eye-opening experience. It has been great to see how a child can progress and learn using techniques that I have never used before. These skills and strategies are something I can take with me after university where I plan to continue my work with children.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, I have been provided with lots of remote training and advice from people with ample experience. The consultant has taught me ways of helping children learn and provided guidance and support to help me understand how sessions are delivered.
I was worried that the pandemic would mean that I was unable to get the same amount of support and training without meeting the child in person. However, The Playhouse Foundation has guided me, meaning my time working with them remotely has still been extremely rewarding and beneficial.
This placement has been a fantastic way of helping me understand child development, and the team are always very flexible if I am unable to attend sessions due to university priorities. I am extremely grateful to have been given this opportunity. Ever since I saw this placement advertised through my university, I knew it would be something I would be passionate and excited about, and I was right!”
